“I love woodcarving. When I was 9 years old, my scoutmaster, who was of Native American heritage and also an excellent woodcarver, introduced me to it. Over the years I've carved bowls, birds, ducks, signs, caricatures, and most recently, by popular demand, a wide variety of handy wooden kitchen tools. I started with what I call a Chef's Tool, which was developed with lots of input from friends and family who love to cook.”
Chris works in northern Michigan. His wife Teri is an artist too, and the two of them take the work to art shows around the state.

“I'm hopeful that you will enjoy using the wooden gifts I make as much as I enjoyed making them. Please note that although I live in northern Michigan and am not that far from Detroit, I have no connections with the Ford family, so don't expect his genius for mass production to spill over to me. In other words, since these tools and bowls are all done by hand, and only by me, please be proactive and maybe a little patient regarding holiday and gift ordering and delivery times.”

“I enjoy making custom wooden wedding or birthday gifts. Many of the items I make can also be for family Christmas gifts. They end up being passed down through the family, and I am honored.”
Every item is signed and numbered. Most of the kitchen tools can be personalized at no charge with a short message, which is what turns an already unusual gift into something nobody else has.
